Red Rover — right now
Currently
Home at Oak Bay Marina. Today is Drew's first visit aboard and the season-inventory dock day — safety locker, ground tackle, engine room. A strong wind warning is up for Juan de Fuca, so she stays tied up: a day for lists, not miles.
This week
Drew's first look at Red Rover, paired with the spring shakedown inventory at the dock. The first proper cruise-speed sea trial waits for a lighter-wind day.
Next decision
First sea trial — hold until the Juan de Fuca strong-wind warning eases. Monday looks lighter (west 10 to 15).

Spring Delivery — Esquimalt to Oak Bay

Red Rover launched from Angler's Launch in Esquimalt on a cooperative May morning — flat water, light northwest, and a long ebb that gave her a gentle push along the shore.

Garnet ran the helm with Ian aboard for the short inshore hop. Alex drove the truck around to Oak Bay Marina to meet them at the other end. Conservative route past Saxe Point and Fleming Beach — no Trial Island, no shortcuts.

She's home now. Tied up at E12, Oak Bay Marina, ready for the season.

How Red Rover Intel Works
Email prairie2home@gmail.com with a question about Red Rover. Prairie reads your message, checks the vessel's document set (owner's manual, 2024 survey, Oak Bay Marina rules, insurance policy), cross-references conditions data, and replies with sourced answers. Every claim cites a source document.
When Prairie doesn't have enough data, she says so — that's why you see NO DATA on wind and wave limits. Help fill the gaps by emailing new docs to Prairie.
